Adding to that, I don't understand why people want to see College Basketball be the same as the NBA. So many proposed or actual rules changes are stated to be designed to match NBA rules. That's just stupid.

There's no reason that different levels of any sport can't have some different rules. I'm not talking about basics, like 3 strikes and 4 balls in baseball, or 2 points for a field goal and 1 point for a free throw in basketball. I'm talking about stupidity like "advance the ball" to half-court that everyone seems to be on the bandwagon-du-jour about. (That's a stupid rule in the NBA, too, IMHO.) In the same vein, I'm not a fan of matching the NBA's 24-second clock, and I'm not a fan of going to 4 quarters. College Basketball has TRADITIONALLY been 2 halves, and that doesn't need to change.
