Lake Coeur d’Alene and the city and the rest of Northern Idaho is some of the prettiest scenery in North America, if not the world. But it's also been the home of significant white nationalist militia activity, including the Aryan Nation. Hayden Lake, just a few short miles from Coeur d’Alene, was a hotbed of militia organizations in the '90s, and apparently they're making a comeback. It's such a shame, because really, it's STUNNINGLY beautiful up there.
