it will raise a question - can outstanding depth composed of very good players playing for an excellent coach with a good team system and concept overcome a few teams that won't have as much depth but may have a couple starters who are higher ranking players than we have?

It's interesting - Mick used his NIL funds and found real quality players to fill every need he had on his team. But hi transfers class as well as his combined transfer and recruiting class, despite the quality and the depth, is not among the top rated classes. It's understandable that a player like Harris who is tough and does one thing really well - shoot threes - a local player might well go under the radar. But others certainly were known. Yet if you look at it from impartial eyes, read the rankings and all, an impression occurs:

1) it's been said over and over again that UCLA has wound up in a very good position so far as NIL $$ goes, but it would appear that Mick's strategy was to set a ceiling on how much he would pay transfers to get them to come here. Makes good sense to me but it results in a class with good players but we'll have to see how close to elite they are. I like that approach believing a very good team overall should beat a team that's mostly okay with one or perhaps two really elite players.

Thoughts?
