In today’s world. I’d wager that the softballer who was paid 1mm to transfer from Stanford to Texas Tech makes as much playing softball as any “professional” softball player in the world.
Amateurs no longer exist except in people memory. And let me tell you, many (football and basketball) players were being compensated in other ways.
