his Laker days. I'll never forget his missed jumper against the Celtics in the final seconds of the 1962 7th game in the NBA championship series. The shot would have won the game for the Lakers, but instead they lost in overtime and again went down to the Celtics. It's a shame that Selvy, for many, is remember for that missed shot. He had a great career and deserved to be remembered for that - including his 100 point college game for his Furman team versus Newberry, his 42 ppg senior year, his overall college average of over 30 ppg, 2 time conference player of the year, 2 time All American, and a 10 year NBA career with 2 All Star appearances.
