In past years they were very strict about letting people in to watch but not recently . . . until today. They didn't want to let me in even though there were about 100 people in the gym, so I had to pull out my "##### gave me permission to be here" card where ##### is the UCLA person they have to go through to rent the gym. Then I sat down next to several empty seats and they said I couldn't sit there. Maybe they knew I have no respect for Hines who once went 100 consecutive minutes without scoring and tried to murder Matt Barnes.
Luckily I was able to watch because the Bruins were back with this team who won three of the five games I saw:
Bilodeau - Looks good but wasn't hitting his shots today.
Kyle - Several monster dunks. Now the ability to throw down dunks doesn't necessarily translate to being a good basketball player but think about it. When was the last time we had an ultra athletic big forward?
Dailey - At one point hit something like four of five threes. At 6-8 adds another dimension to the team.
Perry - Impresses me more every day. Excellent poise for a 19-yr-old playing against pros.
Freeny - Does a little of everything. Ball handling, rebounding, passing and defense.
