And, herein lies the rub.
It’s a challenge to make meaningful assessments when the difficulty is adjusting for a poser team like Ryder.
The one thing that seems clear is UCLA’s D looks much quicker and assertive in this inaugural half. The D is playing more *offensively* in contesting all over the Ryderettes halfcourt sets. An intense man-D with aggressive switching D that left Ryder with little in the way of open shots other than distant low %age hoists from the arc. And, yeah, Kobe can D it up with a great motor.
On O, Dailey (the scoring leader for the Bruins), stood out in scoring from the perimeter as well as off the dribble in drives thru the paint.
And, hey!, Mara is now able to bend over and maintain his balance on bith O and D, no doubt a product of his spending extended hours in the training room.
I personally was Waiting for Godot…….,.err…….Kyle, as it seems that Bilodeau could impact the game most effectively at PF, whuch he has played extensively in the past.
