The streaming service we are subscribed to (FUBO) records all of the UCLA and Michigan games for us. I'm not surprised at the loss though. I've seen NM play once and I felt the Bruins would have a difficult time with them if they weren't on their game, which they apparently weren't last night. After looking at the box score and seeing the poor shooting and high level of turnovers, it is apparent they still have a ton of work to do to be a top level team in the BIG. But they better improve quickly as they have some tough games coming up in Arizona, NC and Gonzaga and the BIG doesn't get any easier.
This loss should be a wake up call for all of the Bruin players as well as the coaching staff. However, a loss to a decent team happening this early in the season could be a plus in the big picture of things. Even with this disappointing performance, it's really too early to come to any conclusions regarding the capability of this team. We should know a lot more after those big games I mentioned above.
As far as NM goes, Dent is one of the better PGs in the country and their big guy is solid. They are certainly underrated by the national sports media, IMO.
In the tough BIG conference, I've only seen Ohio State, Indiana, Purdue and Michigan play this year. IMO, they are all going to be a very tough challenge for the Bruins---as are many of the other BIG teams.
