I took the day off from work to go with my wife, daughter and her two girls (7 and 4 yrs) because it was advertised as a Field Trip game. There were a lot of kids there, 3rd or 4th grade up through junior high. We saw 8-10 school buses in front when we were coming in and more came in later. The kids were great fans. When the scoreboard said make some noise, it was rock concert loud. They were also into the game, especially in the first quarter, which made it a good atmosphere. After the game, the players were in the stands signing autographs for long lines of kids although many of the students left early to get back to school before their school day was over.

I liked the defensive effort today from the team. I thought they were more intense than last game. I agree with you on Aarnisalo, she appears to have settled in and is confident in running the team. At one point, the team was confused about their defensive assignments on the far side of the court from the bench and Aarnisalo was directing Barker in where she was supposed to be. Very nice to see.

Dudley is too sped up as would be expected from a first year player in her second game. She seems athletic though. She had one great drive in a half court set all the way to the basket only to put it too hard against the backboard. Growing pains.

I like Cain also. It looks like she has a good handle, a nice stroke from 3, and good size. Seems like Close has a shorter leash on her but I think she will contribute this year. Barker is a good player who likes to shoot. She has talent and was active on the boards. The team needs that.
