of any poll. It's understandable though with their one loss and a very light cupcake schedule so far. However, in their new conference, 6 BIG teams are currently named (not all in the same poll though)in at least one of the four top 25 review sites. Purdue, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Ohio State, Mich State and Rutgers. I don't know how far down UCLA may be rated though. If those are the legitimate top 6 teams in the BIG, then I'd speculate that UCLA must be rated somewhere in the 7 to 10 position in the conference. Just a guess though.
They will have a chance to prove all of these raters wrong though when they face 3 top teams in late Dec (Arizona, NC and Gonzaga)and a good Oregon team (Washington could be tough too--but I don't know anything about them). Win 4 of those 5 games and and with a record of 11-2, they should jump into at least the top 20. Of course, we all know that ratings mean very little at this point in time--right? We'll see.
Just a guess, best case record going into January would probably be 10-3. Worst case would probably be 8-5. But even with a "worst case" scenario (and knowing how Cronin teams improve in later months of the schedule), there would still be plenty of time to recover though with only 2 conference games played in Dec and 18 conference games remaining. It should be interesting.
