Before the season, a lot of our confidence in both teams' outlooks was based on each having a returning, experienced, proven point guard - Dylan Andrews and Kiki Rice.
Both began the season sidelined by nagging injuries.
Neither has looked ready to perform as yet.
Difference so far is the women's team has the frosh sensation Aarnisalo (with a lot of international experience and the men have just a developing but very young Perry and a misfiring Clark to carry the load in the presumed starter's absence.
On the women's side, Aarnisalo has been so good, she may be the team's primary PG this year with Rice playing a more complimentary or SG role - remains to be seen.
With the men, Dylan is going to have to fight to reclaim his place as the team's leader from the backcourt. And it's really important to the team's hopes to realize its potential that he does.
