we still don't know just how good these Bruins are right now. I know the popular narrative is that the Bruins came out flat and didn't really "show up" - that they really didn't compete. Well, that may be true, but what also may be true is that the Bruins were just out played by a superior team. The Lobo guards where just too quick, too fast, and too strong for the Bruin back court. New Mexico took the Bruins right out of the game. The final score, IMO, didn't really reflect the distance between the two teams. I thought the Lobos beat and outplayed the Bruins by a 15 to 20 point margin.

Since that game the Bruins have only played teams they've overwhelmed. It's difficult to accurately measure the Bruins' improvement based on those games We'll know more after the Bruins' next six games as to how good this team is and can become. They may indeed be a top 25 team, or even a top 15 team, but right now we don't know that. The Bruins IMO have been improving from what I can see on TV, but there are still many holes that have to be filled.

The Bruins need Andrews to find his late last season form and mindset. Mack needs to continue to become a more disciplined player. The Bruin post play is woefully inadequate right now and needs to move closer to its potential. There's a lot of positive things going on with the Bruins from what I can see, but until they play stiffer competition we won't know just how good they are right now. Whatever that may be, I still think they have the potential to be even better.
