I saw the after game press conference, and something isn't right. If Dayley sustained a head injury, then why did he start the second half...only to be taken out after his 3 foul...coincidence...idk?
Great coaches have great feel for the game and know when it's time to put a game away. Coack K, Self, Wright, D Hurley... they know that with a 10-12 pt. lead and with maybe a couple of good possessions you can possibly get it to 14-16 and maybe douse the hope of the other team. A timeout to run specific sets to get the shots that you want. We had that lead and that's when Carolina got it under 10 and we all know what happened from there. Cronin doesn't do a good job of recognizing those game moments and how to seize them, at least in my eyes.
I don't have a problem with Mack taking driving shot, but let the play evolve out of some movement. A screen at least could cause some defensive confusion, but it was a 1 on 1 move. The defense knew it was coming. If we knew it, and the announcers knew it, don't you think Davis and his staff also knew it? it's obvious. Cronin had nothing better? Geesh...
