If I had started to count the number of UCLA basketball and football
games the Bruins could have and should have won since I was a
freshman (1965), it would be in the hundreds.
Kiki's failed dunk in 1980. Zenon's missed field goals and extra points.
A defensive pass interference call that wasn't vs usc.
What about games the Bruins won that maybe they shouldn't have?
The phantom "goal tending" call that went UCLA's way (Alford's kid).
Or the ending of the SMU basketball game. As recently as Oregon
at Oregon.
I'm over yesterday's game. Another should have. Best player out
with 4 fouls. Less than 60% free throw shooting. A mediocre
North Carolina team ... and still only lost by 2.
As someone correctly pointed out, these players are mostly new to
each other.
It's a long way to March.
Gonzaga will be a better test.
