UCLA is playing sloppy, but they are competing hard on one of the tuffer road venues.
11 TOs vs only 7 for MD. And, that's critical becuz this team is still far away from scoring their way out of a hole, such that our D in giving up 40 is now problematic for the 2nd game in a row.
Both teams are 11-4, but UCLA holds an edge in BI0 play at 2-2 vs 1-3 for MD.
DA is a total mess and is still playing outside the game rhythm with his confidence gauge on E. His fog is spreading to the D end, as Gillespie is eating his lunch. Perry is making a strong statement tonite for more mins.
And, Bilodeau is playing well but looks gassed, wherein there's no one to go to off the bench. Thankfully, Tyler has no PFs.
Of all our players, Stef is moving the best without the ball and it has gotten him fairly open shots. Problem is he's missed 3 of 4 FGAs and I think he is critical to our climbing out of this 4 pt hole in the final 20 mins.
MD is beatable, despite characteristically playing well in their own house, but we need to put some cuffs on Gillespie's game high 18 pts. It's clear to me that DA can't do it as he's in a fog, so along with Stef, we need Kobe to rise to the occasion as he's our best perimeter defender even tho Gillespie is scoring against everyone.
GO BRUINS!
