While we have a very good defense, we have an awful offense, and when our defense gets beat, or has issues (like the Michigan game), we don't have the offense to bail out the defense.
Until we start running an offense which can break down opposing defenses, rather than making them look as good as, or better, than our defense, we'll struggle. Our offense plays for the shots our defense tries to force. We don't break down defenses and get layups, in large part because we're afraid of attacking the paint (that's Cronin's quick hook for turnovers and desire to control pace via not hunting early offense).
As of now, the Oregon game (our best win), looks more and more like a lucky last second 3 point heave off the backboard that we are unlikely to replicate.
