You raise a good point re actual development v recency bias. It’s just so difficult to differentiate between what are stochastic results and what is actual development. I always chuckle when I read here that Cronin’s teams tend to get better. Well, yeah, EVERY team should get better. The question is how much better and whether they delta is greater than other sides. I remember in the good old days we used to canonize Lousivile for playing brutal regular season schedules and say now they are hardened and will exceed expectations in the tourney. Most teams seem to eschew that methodology today. Icla and others seem to fill up on cupcakes pre conference nowadays. I miss the ULCA-ND games and playing UK in Rupp or Duke in Pauley

I tend to think that health and the return of injured players and loss of key players are much more relevant to results.
