Yes, indeed Cronin's teams improve - like most college teams. Even last season's team improved. It looked like that team was going to come into fruition and possibly make the tournament and even possibly end up challenging for the conference lead or at least be in the conversation. We all know what happened then.
My experience has taught me that good teams know how to play with the lead. They know how to maintain momentum even as various runs occur. Good teams also know how to continue to build not just on momentum during any particular game, but also continue to build on their improvements as a team.
This team has all the indications that they can do this, but we've also seen they can backslide. IMO this team still needs to mature. Everyone has a role in this maturation process - the individual players, the coaches, the leaders, and Cronin himself. We'll see how this plays out. There's still a lot of season yet to play and a lot of good teams and tough hurdles to overcome. Fingers crossed.
