officials just don't seem to call it much anymore. Doesn't appear to be a point of emphasis but it is something that gives a slick ball handler an advantage and one that makes it more difficult for the defender to guard him.
Another thing that's not called much is the player using the non shooting arm to fend off a defender or create contact on a drive to the hoop. But if anything is called, it's normally on the defender even though it's the ball handler that created the contact. Mack has that move down pretty well but since the Bruins often get the benefit, that's OK with me, especially in crunch time in a close game. Another player who uses that off arm on the drive extremely well is USC's big PG, Claude.
