cannot root for SC - just can't - HOWEVER, a couple things:
Been a while since we had a home town and travel partner capable of making opponents work hard and hopefully soften them up a bit before they play us
And this takes the top dog in conference down a peg. Would love it if we keep winning and those teams ahead of us keep losing. Would really really like to see us get one of these double bye top four spots for the B1G conference tournament - at least get a single bye.
What I was rooting for was actually a three or four overtime game. Preferably fast breaking and full court press all the way both ways. And I'd have been happy to accept an SC loss of course.
But this result does have some benefits for us.
Portion I watched was a pretty rock 'em, sock 'em set two between the two teams. If MSU plays the way they did today, our revival should continue stronger than ever.
