A high-powered MSU O, with a solid penetrating game, are seeing an elite D up close & personal.
CMC's D roster is giving him everything he could ask for, with a relentless red-dogging man-D along with a withering switching D.
Always a concern about PFs ~ MSU hasn't missed from the stripe but, no harm no foul as they've only taken 5 FTAs (and made all 5 as per their reputation). Meanwhile UCLA is 7-9. Mentioning FTAs, becuz with MSU not shooting well from the field or the arc, I expect Izzo to attack the paint bigly in the 2H.
My other concern is Andrews is playing noticeably tight, missing all his shots (4) from the field with only 2 dimes. His MSU cover is playing him physically and CMC has to free him up with some screens to get his confidence back up.
We're winning the game becuz our D has extracted 8 TOs vs only 2 for UCLA, which more than offsets our characteristic underage in rebounds, 16-19. Skyy is the game-high scorer with 13, and I hope the box score is now set with him at 1 PF as they had him with 2 earlier in the game.
Expect this one to go down to the wire, as MSU is not going to fold. However, MSU can go cold on O for stretches. And, as I mentioned in an earlier post, their SOS is lighter than that of UCLA.
