The women's team has a dominant center in Betts - young Mr. Mara isn't to that point quite yet. Our offense (MBB) works best when we are moving the ball around, sharing it by passing it quickly and forcing the defense to have to keep reacting to us until we can find an opening for Bilodeau, Dailey, Mara or one of our guards to get a good look at the basket. When we stagnate - quit moving without the ball - it degenerates into someone having to force something to make a play.
Stefanovic does a good job of generally keeping moving without the ball but when the whole thing devolves into one guy bouncing the ball while looking around with his teammates mostly standing around, it gets really ineffective. And then Mick turns to Mack for some hero ball.
During our 8 minute stretch in our most recent game when our offense congealed into what in the art world they would call a Still Life, one guy after another tried to do it by himself to get his team going and Tracy Murray observed there was far too much hero ball going on out there and far too little movement.
