The USC game was my first opportunity to see the Boilermakers so I don't know them very well. But from my initial viewing they don't look, overall as a team, very athletic except for their ultra quick point guard and that's a huge exception. I agree, he has to be one of the best, if not the best, point guards in the nation. He's probably going to give the Bruins a lot of problems like he probably does for every team Purdue plays.
All the other players appear to me to be very solid basketball players with good overall height and strength. They remind me a little of some of Bobby Knight's Indiana teams - they don't make a lot of mistakes, play really hard, and do every thing really well and smart. That number 4 is a beast and uses his body well in the low post and appears to have an endless motor.
IMO this Purdue team is greater than it's parts with their point guard bringing it all together for them and elevating them into a very tough team to beat. I think the Bruins are going to have their hands full when they visit West Lafayette. I think the Bruins have the talent and wherewithal to beat the Boilermakers even on their own court but it's going to probably be an uphill struggle. I penciled in this game as a potential loss for the Bruins, but we'll see. Fingers crossed and they still have 5 games before they go to Indiana. They can't afford to lose sight of each game that's directly in front of them. Bear down and take one game at a time. Go Bruins!
