gets a bad rap on this board.
He played only 10 minutes a game as a freshman and then was expected to lead last years team, a team that really didn't have anyone he could lead. He still had 3.7 assists and 12.9 points per game.
Then this year, the whole team pretty much changed. While there are more players who can score, there are more players who can set them up with assists. Nevertheless, Andrews is averaging 2.9 assists per game, 1/10th more than Clark and 1/10th less than Johnson, while shooting a career high 34% from 3-point range, and improving last year's 2-point percentage from 43% to 47%. He's done all of that while playing 11 minutes per game less than last year (his per-40-minute stats are up for assists and 3-pointers).
That seems pretty good to me.
And that's not even taking his groin injury into account.
I think he's key because all players are key. We are a better team when everyone plays to the best of their ability. That's not to say he's been great all season, but to get his season stats to where they are right now, he's pretty close to the top of his game.
To make a long story short, we probably agree more than we disagree.
