Glad you posted that video as it is very good at showing the contrast in levels of play during earlier eras. Players of today just seem bigger, stronger and more athletic than many of those in the past.

The thing about UCLA's offense that bothers me at times is that they spend an excessive amount of time playing laterally (a lot of circular motion and a lot of dribbling on the perimeter) rather than attacking downhill like many of the top teams do. Much of that has to do with player's ability (or lack thereof) to create off of that motion.

For any offense to work well, players must have the ability to read the defense and break off of the offense and create their shot while making a good percentage of those shots. For a team that has several players with that ability, most any offense should work for them.

Not always possible but for me, I like to see a team always have 3 of the 5 on the floor capable of creating their own shots. Bruins don't currently have that capability as I see it. Mack and Dailey are only two who seem to consistently be able to break off and get their shot.

All of that being said, I do believe the Bruin's offense is a bit better now (when they are making a decent percentage of shots) than it was earlier in the season--MSU game wasn't one of those good shooting games even though they won.
