Barnes seems to be behated, but he wins a lot

I compare him to Jim Harrick. Not the most beautiful guy, personality-wise but does win a lot. The claims that Barnes just wanted a semi-retirement job proved to be false.

My biggest question on Barnes is would the "UCLA effect" apply? Think of the career trajectory of Gener Bartow, Larry Farmer, Jim Harrick, Steve Lavin, Ben Howland, and Mick Cronin and you should understand what the "UCLA effect" is.

Curiously, Steve Alford may not have had a "UCLA effect".
