Actually above average.
The mean FT% for all NCAA DI teams in 2022 (latest I can find) was 71.6%, the highest ever up to that point. The median was slightly higher, around 72%. This season we are only 70% but the previous three seasons, UCLA shot 73.2, 73.1 and 74.1. In Cronin's first two seasons it was about average, 71.5 and 71.9.
This season is an aberration. Some teams worse than us this season are So. Carolina, BYU, Iowa, Nevada (who is their coach?), San Diego St., St. Johns, Texas A&M, Kansas St., Minnesota (!) and TCU.
