though as Purdue was extremely hot scoring 50 points in each half beating Rutgers by 29 points. Purdue, lead by Smith and Loyer with 23 points each and with each hitting 7 three pointers, (team hit 18 of 36 threes). I dream of the Bruins having a PG like Smith---then I wake up to reality.
BIG 10 tourney at the 18,000 seat Gainbridge Fieldhouse (home of Indiana Pacers in Indianapolis) is shaping up as a very physical affair and shoot out. The team that rebounds well and gets hot from beyond the arc should have a big advantage.
Even though it's a neutral court, it would seem the local area teams like Mich State, Michigan, Illinois, Purdue and possibly Indiana or Ohio State would have an advantage due to the tournament venue being so close to their home schools. No cross country travel to deal with. Should be interesting. My guess is that either Mich State or Purdue will be the biggest threats. But with "March madness" breaking out this time of the year, who knows for sure?
