Good to average defending the three (allows 4.5% below D1 average to 0.7% above D1 average).
Excellent defending the twos above the free throw line (allows 9.2-11.8% below D1 average).
Good defending the left side baseline twos (allows 6.0% below D1 average).
Poor defending in the paint (allows 4.7% above D1 average), right baseline twos (6.6%) and at the rim (6.4%).
My theory on why the baseline defense is so good on the left side but poor on the right is that most players drive to their right and get easier shots beating our defenders. But the overall NCAA average for each side is almost the same and some schools are better and worse on the opposite sides. Other ideas?
