I haven't seen UConn play enough to recall what their post defense is like.
Texas, it's my impression that they have bigs to throw at you. They are kind of like a second rate sc. Lots of big to defend with, super reliant on one player for scoring - Booker. Really similar to what sc does with Watkins and Booker draws a lot of soft fouls, like Watkins. I think it would be good for us to move Lauren around and create lanes against Texas.
South Carolina, I've been saying all season, they can't contend with our size. However, I'm posted this probably four times this season: we had a 20 point lead on SoCaro at the half, and Betts had taken two shots.
But, mostly my comments have been driven by "how do we beat sc?" And, I thik they'll kill us again if we do the same thing against them again, and play the ball into Betts in the post relentlessly.
Michigan gave sc a game today. I did not see Michigan post up a player one time.
But, it's all good, we'll find out tomorrow.
I should be a better person, but for fun, I've got to respond to your question ("what are the odds of us beating UConn or South Carolina or Texas on the basis of Rice driving to the basket as opposed to Betts standing in there as she did yesterday and scoring 28 points and pulling down 13 RBs?") with: what do you think are the odds that UConn, Texas, or SoCaro show up for a game against us and defend against Betts by defending Lauren one-v-one alternating Alexis Markowski and then Petra Bozan on her?
As always, I appreciate the ladies hoops discussions - Go Bruins, Beat the trogans!
