I went back to school at the age of 21 abandoning my political science/pre-law studies to devote myself to the pursuit of art. I went to Pratt Institute in Brooklyn for graduate school and had a 40+ year career as a self-supporting artist. My last employer was way back in 1980 when I was 30. I've shown in galleries all over the country and various types of venues (some very challenging) and I've continued my pursuit to this day, but retired from the business part of it back around 2015. Now I work just for myself continuing to try and reach the pinnacle of what I consider art. Sometimes I get close, fewer times I think I got there. It's been a grand and interesting life. I had an undergraduate professor who was fond of saying - art is a tough way to make a living, but a good way to make a life. I was lucky and fortunate enough to have done both.
