Our problem with CMC is that he coaches against turnovers so much, that while the players are generally in the right places, we are so damn afraid of turnovers the ball doesn't get to where it needs to in order to break down a defense (the paint).
Additionally, our passing to the post and elsewhere seems as if we don't teach passing at all. I always remember that one of the first things Bob Knight would do was spend hours and hours of practice on bounce passes and feeding the post, and we always are awful at it.
We'll have a wing look for a lob pass to the post and no matter how good the post position is, the pass usually just goes around the perimeter again and again. We don't do back door cuts because we won't pass the ball to those cutters, this list of us NOT making the elementary passes required to breakdown a defense with the pass has been one of our massive issues. We really haven't seen it since the FF run.
It makes us hard to watch. Our offense plays for the shots our defense tries to force (which is one reason why our offense looks so much like the offense of the teams we are playing, at least when we're playing good defense).
