It's the rebounds, stupid.
I noted the other day, that TN is like night and day on the boards vs both UtSt and UCLA. We can't be down by 7 and hope to stay with them.
And, yet stay with them we did, but for for one minute ~ the very last minute when TN exploded for 5 unanswered points. Our D was fine, holding TN to an extrapolated 64 points, but CMC's "O" is digging another hole for this team viz only 25 1H pts.
The other issue is the fouls & FTAs. TN is killing us at the stripe by 8 huge points. Dailey and Skyy going out early squelched whatever O we could muster, which was largely Mara who kept us close for all but 1 stinking minute
Could have been worse if not for the questionable availability of Mack's groin and Aday's ankle (and sinus?).
Unfortunately Kobe is playing one of his worst halves wherein he is vital with our "O" asleep at the wheel. And, DA has returned to being detached from both ends of the floor, while joining ED and Skyy with 2 PFs.
You can bet the ranch that Barnes' Rule #1 will be to speed us up in the final 20 mins. We're up only 1 in the turnover game-within-a-game, leading only 6-5.
As as aside, does BYU owe UCLA some chips for taking the fight out of Wiscy? ~~~ >DUCKS<
