in the tournament. I've seen at least 6 or 7 cases where a big guy or other player catches the ball behind the free throw line on the run and never bounces the ball once as he takes several steps (not the Euro step) and slams the ball. Almost like catching a pass from a QB at the 3 yard line and running into the end zone. That is certainly traveling but it isn't being called. And post players sliding their pivot foot all over the place and even a few times changing it and nothing called. I know the traveling rule hasn't been changed. And then, all of a sudden, a wing player does a jab step fake and they call traveling on him. Very inconsistent.
I don't believe the quality of officiating thus far (across the board) has been top level. It should get better when the larger tournament officials group is cut down and the elite 8 officials and final 4 officials are assigned. Those are supposed to be the cream of the crop.
