when I retired and moved here from San Diego (lived there for 22 years). Beautiful area up here (30 miles South of Durango Co), excellent golf courses and great year round weather and clean air (6000 ft altitude where I live).
I don't follow UNM basketball as close as I do UCLA and Michigan but one of my friends here is a graduate of UNM who later was the President of the Board of Regents at UNM when Alford was there. He's an ex basketball player and big UNM fan. He knew Steve well. We talk both UCLA and UNM basketball every time I see him. He has his own law firm locally but currently is serving as the 11th district DA.
