Barker's offensive space is the same as Betts. If they're both on the floor, we become a 4 player offensive team. (Barker is not a good 3 pt shooter). Otoh, Dugalic and Gardiner spread the court when they are out there.
I'm not saying that's the right decision, and I'm a big Barker fan. But, that's probably the logic, or part of the logic.
