The biggest difference between last night's teams and the Bruins

My takeaway from last night just reinforced how I feel about UCLA's current roster. Every player on the court looked incredibly athletic — and honestly, I don’t see that level of athleticism with UCLA as things stand. The frontcourt, in particular, raises some concerns for me. Maybe Booker can be that guy, but everything I’ve read suggests he’s more comfortable out on the perimeter than mixing it up inside.

In the end, I think that lack of speed and agility cost the women’s team, and I’m worried it could limit the ceiling for the men’s team next season too. There’s still some time, so hopefully there’s a move coming. I’d really like to see us bring in a 6'6" or 6'7" wing who can defend and rebound — someone who can help offset what feels like a gap in the frontcourt.
