On one hand, we’re fortunate to have four outstanding returning starters...what a gift! On top of that, we’ve added some phenomenal talent. Sienna is an absolute force, over her career, she might even surpass her sister, despite the three-inch height difference. Kneepkens is another exciting addition; she’s a proven scorer and should be a great fit in London’s spot. But the player I’m most excited about is Ledger-Walker, she’s the real deal! She can shoot it, dish, take it to the rack, and brings great strength.
On the other hand, none of these additions really addresses our overall athleticism, which, in my opinion, was the main reason we got blown out by UCONN. Sienna basically plays the same position as her sister. While they may see the floor together at times, I see her primarily as the backup center this season. Kneepkens has a bit more to offer than London, but she’s not exactly fleet of foot. Same goes for Ledger-Walker. She’s skilled and tough, but quickness isn’t her strength.
Because of that, I think we’ll continue to struggle against uber-athletic teams, like USC and UCONN were this year.
Don't get me wrong. We'll be a great team, but concerned about our ceiling.
