I don't think that scheduling some decent home non-con games conflicts with the needs of the team, program, admin, or Cronin.
Probably would service those needs.
And, you can deride it by characterizing it as the fans' "entertainment needs" (sounds like you're still trying to lump competitive game in with flashing lights, loud music, and demanding a certain style of play), but fans are an essential part of the equation. You may not like it, but the program will be a lot better off with Donovan Dent this season and Dent wouldn't be here if it weren't for fans that are very invested (pun intended) in the program.
Let's see what the home attendance is during the non-con part of the season. I don't think there are many fans who are aligned with your view.
