It's pretty much the bible on statistical analysis of basketball.
Basketball on Paper was published in 2004, so it might be a little out of date in terms of "modern" statistical analysis but it still laid the foundation.
Fortunately, Oliver published Basketball Beyond Paper last year (2024).
A better understanding of stats has really helped me better appreciate basketball without becoming someone who watches the numbers more than the game.
I suggest reading the first book and only going on to the second if the first really resonates with you.
