much of the same info. Though this article says women's hips are bigger and the other article was their pelvis is narrower. I'm guessing they are two different measurements? You can have a narrower pelvis but bigger hips?
The part about jumping is interesting, though in soccer, I don't think many of the acl tears are from jumping. But, ya, teaching girls to do everything with bent knees might help a lot.
That stat about being 6 more times likely to tear, after a prior tear is crazy. I wonder if that applies to both tendons, i.e., if you tear your left are you 6 times more likely to tear your right?
There's an emerging player for the US Women's soccer team named Croix Bethune who is 24 and has torn her ACL 3 times, and her meniscus once. Despite all that time off, she is an insaaaaaaanely good soccer player. She broke the NWSL single season assist record as a rookie. When you watch her play, she often looks like a human cheat code. Sooo smooth and creative on the ball. Super gifted, super skilled, super smart. Again, at the least, between 3 acl's and the meniscus, she's missed 3 years of playing at the age of 24. And, she's still extreeeemely good. Hope she can stay healthy.
