I appreciate you sharing all of this, THB. You're a good dude and a good Bruin fan.
I've made my thoughts on Cronin demonstrably clear for a while now, so I won't rehash things.
My biggest issue with the guy is that he has the personality and charm of a moldy grape. He has done nothing to increase the visibility or prestige or viability of our program. If anything, he's been a below average custodian, keeping the coach's seat warm until we fire him and hire someone better.
But aside from his utter lack of charisma and likability, he's also just a glaringly average head coach. He got to the Final Four with Steve Alford's players. Okay, cool. In the bigger scheme of things, all I'll remember from that tourney is how great Juzang played. Campbell and Jaquez were great too, of course.
But since that year, it's been a steady drift towards mediocrity, which is what Cronin has been known for throughout his underwhelming career. Medicore Mick. That's our coach.
I'll always watch this team and root for them, but Cronin is insufferable and needs to be shown the door.
