I'm also wondering how Dent is dealing with Cronin's style of coaching and his push for elite defensive play. He didn't see that type of pressure last year at UNM. I agree with you that he is one of the elite passers in the game and his ability to see and get the ball to open men is outstanding. On the other hand, he doesn't seem as aggressive on offense as he was last year at UNM. A lot of times, he has an opening for a three or a drive but he gives it up to a teammate who may also have an opening. I like PGs who won't hesitate to take the three when they are open or to attack the basket with some force. Dent seems like more of a finesse PG who can get into the paint easily but relys on soft floaters or jump shots to score. He just seems very hesitant to fire up a three.
Have to shift gears this afternoon as my wife's Michigan team plays Conf USA Middle Tennessee (I'll watch the replay of Arizona/UCONN game on FUBO's recording of it). Wife supports UCLA so I have to support her Michigan team.
Don't know how good M. Tenn is but they are 3-0 and have scored over 100 points in their first two games. Have good height too with two 6'11 and four 6'9 players. Michigan has been barely squeeking by in their last couple of games while playing badly with over 20 turnovers in their games. Haven't been shooting the three well at all in last 2 games. they certainly haven't looked like a top 10 team to me in those close victories. I haven't told my wife that but she pretty much admitted it to me after the last win in OT against Jamie Dixon's TCU team.
