When it comes to numbers in the basketball world, there are many data points to consider when analyzing a team's efficiency or potential in most any area of play. Then there is the eye tests.
As far as rebounding goes, the first thing I like to do is look at a team's physical characterics (size, weight, athleticism and quickness of their bigs) when I try to analyze their potential rebounding capability. Then, if those same guys are putting up large numbers like Purdue's big guys are (and against good teams), that makes the conclusions much easier.
