In the last 5 minutes of the game, Ucla scored 4 buckets: all 1on1 hero ball efforts by Dent inside the paint.
But he also got two shots blocked, which are akin to turnovers.
And then BWilliams created another TO.
Bilo missed a desperation prayer 3, and so did Brown.
So one guy scored all the points, there was no ball movement or offensive flow that got other players involved.
Pretty ugly O execution.
What about Iowa?
Iowa scored two buckets off floaters in the lane set up by coming off a screen.
Iowa got another bucket (the back breaker, IMO) when an Iowian cut down the lane from the top and turned a perfectly timed pass from Stirtz into a dunk.
Iowa did commit one TO in the last 5, and got 1 OR in that window.
But the real killer is that Iowa used its ball movement to get fouled 4 times, and hit all 8 FTs.
And then they hit the "in your eye" 3 from 34 at the buzzer.
So 8 scores out of 9 possessions, per ESPN play by play.
Meanwwhile, Ucla only had 4 scores in the same time frame.
That's how Iowa stretched a 4 pt lead into a 13 pt win.
Scouting by stats alone leaves a lot to be desired.
