Too short to play any meaningful basketball but my dream was to be a garbage man but I always thought of it as the glue man.

Didn't want to be a star, just the glue.
At games end when we board the bus, the fans are pushing me out of the way to get the lead scorers signatures. I help them with that and while there is some awkwardness I give a comforting smile to smooth it away. After I help the bus driver load the final bag in storage some little kid comes up to me and says "Hey man, that was the most awesome pass I have ever seen in my life." I respond thanks kid, do you want me to sign anything?" He says nah, but can I shake your hand? Sure kid.
Sometimes being the glue man is star enough, especially when you get the job done.
