A couple of years ago everyone was raving about the class he brought in, but Mara was not ready, and other guys that the world though were top gets just didn’t come through.
This year’s team coming in, according to the world, was a very competitive team. Yet Dent forgot how to shoot, and a few injuries including a long stretch by Skyy (who is probably our best player when healthy) went down. Bilodeau and Perry also advanced their game, while arguably Daily and others did not.
This is how reality sets in to the best laid plans. Given our NIL restrictions at UCLA, I feel like Cronin has dnne a pretty good job of putting teams together. Some years “stuff” just happens.
Personally, I’m doubtful that any coach we bring in is going to be a vast improvement on Cronin.
