Sometime in the mid to late 1970s the Soviet National Team came to Pauley to play the Bruins. This was when the Soviets were really good and I recall that they beat a really good Bruin team that day. Anyway, somebody in the student section was studying Russian and before the game he taught us how to say "So long Chief" in Russian. Needless to say, we gleefully used it when one of the Soviet players fouled out.
