Other losses with Clark in the lineup tell a similar story:
Arizona
Points in the paint: 38–20
Rebounds: 35–28
Gonzaga
Points in the paint: 34–30
Rebounds: 36–29
I agree that not every loss can be traced directly to those numbers, but the disparity is real. When you’re consistently getting outscored in the paint and hammered on the glass, it puts pressure on everything else. At times, trying to compensate for that inside weakness leads to overhelping and giving up wide-open perimeter shots.
In my view, it’s not hard to see how easily teams are scoring around the rim against us. That's not to say perimeter defense has been great. It's just less of a concern IMHO.
