Heading into the final day of the 2025-26 Sun Belt Conference men’s basketball regular season, a seven-way tie for first place is still in play.
South Alabama, Troy, Appalachian State and Marshall all enter Friday with 11-6 conference records, while Arkansas State, Coastal Carolina and Texas State are all 10-7. App State is at Texas State on Friday, but none of the other five play each other in their final regular-season games.
That means a seven-way tie if ALL of the following happen: the Bobcats beat the Mountaineers, the Jaguars lose to Southern Miss, the Trojans lose to Louisiana-Monroe, the Thundering Herd lose to Georgia Southern, the Chanticleers beat James Madison and the Red Wolves beat Louisiana. What the seeding would be in that scenario is, frankly, a convoluted mess.

It turns out that depending on the outcomes tonight, a team could lose and need 5 wins to win the conference tournament. But if they win tonight, they might only need to win two games to go dancing.
